"IC Lights" features an opalescent glass sphere poised as if rolling on a slender rod. Michael Anastassiades designed it, inspired by a short film of contact juggling master Tony Duncan. The name "IC" is derived from the identification code used by the British immigration authorities to classify immigrants. The design, which maintains an exquisite balance much like a sphere that won't roll off an incline, expresses Anastassiades' own unique balance as a foreigner and the precarious equilibrium of his identity.
