The Series 7 chair, introduced in 1955 as the successor to the Ant™ chair. The seat is constructed from a thin nine-layer laminated plywood, with beautiful wood grain finishes on the outer layers, and a combination of horizontal and vertical grains to ensure optimal strength. This design resulted in a chair that is both lightweight and strong, a defining characteristic of the Series 7. Its slender silhouette, supported by slim 14mm steel pipes, also earned it the nickname "Butterfly Chair." This particular model features a lacquer finish that conceals the wood grain.
