This is a fine art giclée print specially created for The Poster Club by Finnish artist Riitta Ek, who lives on Lauttasaari, a small island on the outskirts of Helsinki. Having majored in textile design at Aalto University, her work is characterized by surfaces and patterns. During her student days, she immersed herself in the creative process, establishing a unique production style that fused sketching with digital processing. When sketching, Riitta uses black ink and black acrylic paints to delineate shapes. She intentionally unifies all elements in black because it makes them easier to scan, but she adds, "Using black allows me to focus on form and rhythm."
