This fine art giclée print was specially created for The Poster Club by Finnish artist Riitta Ek, who lives on Lauttasaari, a small island outside Helsinki. Having majored in textile design at Aalto University, her work is characterized by surfaces and patterns. During her studies, she immersed herself in the creative process and developed a unique production style that combines sketching and digital processing. When sketching, Riitta uses black ink and black acrylic paints to create shapes. She intentionally keeps all elements black because it's easier to scan, but she adds, "Using black allows me to focus on the form and rhythm."
