This fine art giclée print was created exclusively for The Poster Club by Finnish artist Riitta Ek, who lives on Lauttasaari, a small island on the outskirts of Helsinki. Having majored in textile design at Aalto University, her work is characterized by surfaces and patterns. During her student days, she immersed herself in the creative process, developing a unique style that fuses sketching with digital processing. When sketching, Riitta uses black ink and black acrylic paint to create shapes. She intentionally keeps all elements black because it makes them easier to scan, but she adds, "Using black allows me to focus on the shapes and rhythm."
