This is a fine art giclée print created especially for The Poster Club by Copenhagen-based artist, Mette Kiel. She works in the intersection between illustration and graphic design. Her working process is playful, and the results are characterized by a light expression and colorfulness. During her studies at the Royal College of Art in London, Kiel was also trained as a decorator and painter, working with the restoration of historical buildings. That job required using traditional techniques such as marbling, wood grain painting, and gold foiling. That knowledge is still at the core of Kiel's work today. While her colors are bright and light, her mosaic motifs seem inspired by marbled floors in historical buildings.
