This is a fine art Giclée print created especially for The Poster Club by Copenhagen-based artist Moli Kiel. She works in the intersection between illustration and graphic design. Her process is playful, which results in light expressions and colors. While studying at the Royal College of Art in London, Kiel also trained as a decorator and painter, working with the restoration of historical buildings. That work required the use of traditional techniques such as marbling, wood graining, and gilding. That knowledge is still at the core of Kiel’s practice. Her colors are bright and light, but the mosaic motif has the feel of being inspired by the marble patterned floors of historical buildings.
