A fine art giclée print created exclusively for The Poster Club by Copenhagen-based artist Mette Kiel, who operates in the borderland between illustration and graphic design. Her working process is playful, resulting in light expressions and colors. During her time at the Royal College of Art in London, Kiel was also trained as a decorator and painter, working on the restoration of historic buildings. This work required the use of traditional techniques such as marbling, wood graining, and gilding. This knowledge remains central to Kiel's work today. While her colors are bright and airy, the mosaic motifs seem to draw inspiration from the marble-patterned floors of historical buildings.
