This fine art giclée print was created exclusively for The Poster Club by Copenhagen-based artist Mette Kiel. She works in the borderlands between illustration and graphic design. Her creative process is playful, resulting in light expressions and colors. While studying at the Royal College of Art in London, Kiel was also trained as a decorator and painter, working with the restoration of historic buildings. This work required the use of traditional techniques such as marbling, wood grain imitation, and gilding. This knowledge remains at the core of Kiel's work today. While her colors are bright and light, the mosaic motifs have a feel as if inspired by the marble patterned floors of historical architecture.
