This is a fine art Giclée print created especially for The Poster Club by Copenhagen-based artist Mette Kiel. She works in the intersection between illustration and graphic design. Her working process is playful, which results in a light expression and use of colors. During her studies at the Royal College of Art in London, Kiel was also trained as a decorator and painter, working on restorations of historic buildings. That work required the use of traditional techniques such as marbling, wood graining, and gilding. That knowledge remains at the core of Kiel's work today. While her colors are bright and light, the mosaic motifs seem to draw inspiration from the marbled floors of historic buildings.
