This is a fine art giclée print created especially for The Poster Club by Copenhagen-based artist, Mette Kiel. She works in the intersection between illustration and graphic design. Her creative process is playful, resulting in light expressions and colors. During her studies at the Royal College of Art in London, Kiel was also trained as a decorator and painter, working on the restoration of historic buildings. This work required the use of traditional techniques such as marbling, woodgraining, and gilding. This knowledge is still at the core of Kiel's work today. While her colors are bright and light, the mosaic motifs have a feel as if they are inspired by the marble patterned floors of historic architecture.
