This fine art giclée print was created exclusively for The Poster Club by French artist Jeanne Albertine, who grew up in the quiet countryside of northern France. From an early age, she had a desire to create. What started as a means to pass long weekends eventually evolved into a disciplined practice of visual expression, shaped by her training in graphic design and a strong sensibility for composition, color, and balance. She works exclusively with collage, cutting and layering hand-painted paper, assembling each image piece by piece. Her process begins with rough sketches, which are then refined digitally before being brought to life on painted paper. Instead of using ready-made colored paper, she paints the paper herself, allowing her precise control over color while preserving brushstrokes as part of the composition. Each piece is separated into layers by color and carefully cut by hand using a knife and scissors. The final collage is assembled over time, and the cuts, material textures, and traces of the creative process are intentionally left as integral elements of the finished work.
