This is a fine art giclée print specially created for The Poster Club by Antonia Figueiredo, an artist based in Tallinn, Estonia. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, she had long felt that the distance from her homeland was essential to her development. When she left Brazil seven years ago, she believed that moving forward meant not looking back. Recently, however, a shift has begun to occur in that relationship. While still hesitant to view São Paulo as "home," she has become increasingly interested in understanding how the place where she grew up continues to shape who she is today. She reflects on the distance from her birthplace and the impact it has had on her identity. This perspective continues to shape her approach to her work.
