ARCO Floor Lamp
The Arco Lamp is a masterpiece of modern lighting design that has been loved worldwide since its introduction in 1962, and is one of Flos's most iconic products. As its name "ARCO" (arch) suggests, its magnificent arching form, with a stainless steel pole rising from a heavy marble base, is widely recognized. Inspired by streetlights, Achille Castiglioni designed it to function as a pendant light that could be used in locations where power could not be drawn from the ceiling. The distance from the base to the light source's shade is 2.2 meters. This creates a perfect balance, allowing someone to walk behind a chair when the shade is positioned in the center of a dining table. It can also be used in situations where lighting cannot be installed in an optimal position, such as above a sofa.
