The "IC Lights" feature milky white glass spheres that appear to roll precariously on thin rods. Michael Anastassiades designed them after being inspired by a short film by contact juggling master Tony Duncan. The name "IC" comes from the identification codes used by the UK immigration authorities to classify immigrants. The design, with its exquisite balance reminiscent of a sphere that won't roll off an incline, expresses Anastassiades' own unique balance as a foreigner and the precarious equilibrium of his identity.Source: https://www.connect-d.com/
