Max Bill Poster variation 1
This is a poster of Max Bill's "Fifteen Variations on a Single Theme." It is one of the "Fifteen Variations on a Single Theme" concrete artworks, which develops 15 variations based on a single original drawing using the keywords "continuity," "development," and "inspiration." Variations are developed through mathematical interpretation with regularity, excluding subjective elements. "Variation 1" connects the points of the original drawing's spiral shape, forming polygonal surfaces using only straight lines. The overlapping polygons are colored in six colors: yellow, red, green, blue, orange, and purple. "Variation 12" connects the points with curves to form circles. It is constructed according to the rule of filling in black where overlapping surfaces occur, making it appear as if large and small rings are folded over one another in three dimensions.
