Known affectionately as the Butterfly Chair, the "BKF Chair" is a historical masterpiece manufactured by Sweden's Cuero, and this version features a casual canvas seat. The "BKF Chair" was designed by three Argentinian designers for a building they designed in Buenos Aires. It was named "B.K.F" after the first initials of each of these three designers. Inspired by a folding chair designed by England's Joseph Fenby in 1855, the "BKF Chair" was born in 1938. At the time, it was virtually unknown in Japan, but its durability, sophisticated design, and the freedom it offered in sitting posture made it immensely popular in America during the 1950s and 60s, rivalling the popularity of the "C&R Eames" chairs, which were the most favored at the time. By sitting in the center of the seat and leaning back into the gently curved backrest, the leather naturally adjusts to the sitter, offering a unique, embracing comfort different from that of a sofa. As one of the most iconic chairs of the 20th century, the "BKF Chair" is housed in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York as one of the most successful chair designs. The canvas model, which is closer to the original design, offers a more casual feel compared to the luxurious leather model. This large, comfortable lounge chair perfectly embodies the Nordic lifestyle.
