Born in Oregon and raised in Arizona, Katie grew up between two dramatically different topographies—lush forests and arid deserts—an experience that continues to shape her visual language. Her paintings evoke dreamlike spaces where emotion, intuition, and memory converge. Working primarily with acrylics on canvas, Katie builds translucent layers of paint, creating subtle movement and depth. Moons, mirrored forms, and organic shapes appear throughout her work, recurring motifs that continue to evolve over time. "I think of my paintings as portals," she says.
