"A cutting board needs to be used in a certain direction, and a square board gives you that direction, but it gives the impression of being rigid. A round board doesn't have that direction. That's why we made a 'soft square' by combining a circle and a square. The edges of the wood are slightly rounded, so that when the board is leaned up against a surface, it will meet at a point."
