Box Chair Double
This box chair is inspired by the wooden boxes that Suntory, the first Japanese whiskey manufacturer, used to ship whiskey. The side of the box is printed with the name of Suntory's predecessor, Kotobukiya Ltd., and the logo that is still used on Suntory Whisky Kakubin today. The double size has plenty of storage space and has an internal divider. The casters are removable, so you can remove them and use it as a seat at the entrance or as a living room table in combination with a sofa. The "Taru Monogatari" products are made by reusing barrels that have been aged for many years and regenerating them into furniture, and are made with care to preserve the curved lines and texture unique to whiskey barrels, allowing you to enjoy a heavy texture. Whisky barrels are made from carefully selected oak. To prevent leakage from the barrel during the long aging period, we use white oak with straight grain, just like high-quality furniture materials. When whiskey barrels that have finished their role are dismantled and the surface of the bent and stretched barrel wood is carved, beautiful oak appears.
