The Ant Chair is a masterpiece representing Fritz Hansen. Arne Jacobsen originally designed it for the employee canteen of Novo Nordisk, an international pharmaceutical company in Denmark. At first, there were skeptical voices about the advanced design, but Arne Jacobsen himself promised to buy all unsold chairs, so production continued. However, the minimalist and slender form has not only proven its value, but has sold millions of chairs and achieved the status of a masterpiece. The first Ant Chair designed by Arne Jacobsen had three legs. The three legs, one in the front and two in the back, were devised so that as many chairs as possible could be arranged on a round table. The front legs are in the center, so the chair is stable and comfortable to enter and exit without hitting the legs of the person sitting on it, but if you are not sitting in the correct posture, you may lose your balance. Please choose the number of legs according to the environment you will be using it in. The Ant Chair shell is made of moulded plywood with nine layers of plywood and Indian cotton. Available in natural wood, lacquer (a paint finish that hides the grain) and coloured ash (a paint finish that shows the grain of the wood, which varies from chair to chair). The three-legged base is made of chrome-finished steel pipes. Natural wood The plywood is made of natural wood veneer on the outside and finished with clear lacquer. The clear grain of the wood enhances the organic shape of the chair. The grain pattern varies from piece to piece. If you prefer a natural look, natural wood is the recommended choice. Lacquer The lacquer finish hides the grain of the wood, giving a uniform, silky soft impression and allowing the colour to stand out. Coloured ash The grain of the wood can be clearly seen through the colour. It differs from the lacquer finish in that the chair is organic and the texture of the material is visible. It has the advantage of being a more durable finish than natural wood. Source: https://flymee.jp/
