Among the many types of wood, the grain of the horse chestnut is very unique, with a silky luster. Designer Mikinya Kobayashi felt that this expression would suit a carpet, so he extracted the grain of the horse chestnut, adjusted the color and saturation, and incorporated it into the design. 13 colors of semi-freeze thread developed for this collection are used. [Designer's Line - Mikinya Kobayashi -] Mikinya Kobayashi is a designer who is active in a wide range of interior design fields, including furniture, products, textiles, and mobility. This collection was born from Kobayashi's idea of "expressing the beauty of everyday life, such as the grain of the table and the sunlight, by incorporating it into the carpet." Kobayashi says, "The most important thing in design is the balance between the space, the user, and the carpet." Making full use of Yamagata Dantsu's colour-making techniques, we jointly developed through trial and error a dull colour that suits modern lifestyles, and used tightly twisted semi-friction yarn.
