It is made of solid cypress wood, and a technique called Uzukuri processing is used so that you can enjoy the texture of the wood with your eyes and skin. When the surface of the wood is rubbed and polished, the soft parts of the annual rings are scraped off, and the grain of the wood stands out beautifully.
