This spoke-back chair was redesigned to suit the Danish social climate of the time, inspired by the British Windsor chair and taught by Danish architect and furniture designer Kaare Klint, to be simple, beautiful and easy to make. It was originally designed as the "J6", and the product number was later changed due to changes to the seat and details, but it appeared in FDB Möbler's first advertisement and was subsequently used in posters and other media, becoming a popular signature product. When the "J6" was changed to the "J52", a new rocking type "J52G" was also developed, and along with the regular type "J52B", it led the era as a representative chair of FDB Möbler.
