This carpet is hand-sewn by artisans with hand-finished edges, just like a hand-woven carpet. It is woven with traditional Charbonnel patterns in fine colors and patterns. Normally, Wilton-woven carpets have machine-finished edges, but this carpet is sewn by rolling the edges one stitch at a time, and the fringe is finished by hand, knitting each piece with modal thread. The rayon used, developed by Lenzing of Austria, is made from 100% beech wood, which gives the fibers a very smooth texture and luster, creating a texture close to that of natural silk.
