This carpet is hand-sewn by artisans with hand-finished edges, just like a hand-woven carpet. It is woven with traditional weaving patterns in fine colors and designs. Normally, Wilton-woven carpets have machine-finished edges, but this carpet is sewn by rolling in the edges one stitch at a time, and the fringe is hand-knitted with modal yarn. The rayon used, developed by Lenzing of Austria, is made from 100% beech wood, giving the fibers a very smooth texture and luster, creating a texture close to that of natural silk.
