This simple stool is made by an ironworks in Ogaki, Gifu Prefecture, and is full of texture. The cushioned seat is made with two layers of urethane foam of different hardness for a comfortable feel. The genuine leather upholstery is purposely made with natural scratches, stains and wrinkles to blend in with the rugged texture of the iron. The iron legs are left with a bluish-black coating called kurokawa, which is a natural film that forms during the iron manufacturing process, and are finished with a clear coat to bring out the natural texture of the iron.
