This dining chair was born after the designer visited Karimoku's factory and held a workshop with the craftsmen on-site. By updating the existing parts, the aesthetics of Japanese and Scandinavian design are fused. The structure is simple, but the classic chair is warm and familiar. In order to create the extremely thin and intricate details, we challenged the limits of woodworking technology, achieving both the desired design and strength. The backrest is slightly wider than the armchair (N-DC01), and the overall width is adjusted to be compact. The paper cord made of recycled paper has a high-quality texture like wood fiber. It starts off with a bouncy seating feel, but as you use it, it becomes more familiar to the person sitting on it. It is a material that provides comfort all year round, with good breathability that feels cool in summer and not cold in winter. The structure is made of original reinforcing metal fittings, which are used to maintain high strength. Born from a mutual respect between Denmark and Japan, Karimoku Cases evokes the connection to nature that is evident in the design traditions of both countries.
