Jean Prouvé's workshop, the Ateliers Jean Prouvé, worked on many of Solvay's interior and furniture designs between 1941 and 1942. The wooden table Solvay Table, created at this time, is a work that reflects Prouvé's philosophy of placing importance on structure. It is similar in design to the EM Table, which was created later, but while the EM Table has metal legs, the Solvay Table was made with wooden legs due to the metal shortage during World War II.
