This chair was created by Yoshitetsu Ito, a product designer based in Brooklyn, New York, using the traditional Japanese technique of "Yosegi." It is a product that can be seen as both art and practical furniture. The two symmetrical stools are made of 12 diamond-shaped pillars made of solid cypress and nyatoh wood. The natural, calming two-tone color blends naturally into both Japanese houses and modern mansions. Two chairs can be stacked together to use as a table, so there are no limitations to the use. The focus was on the joints when the two chairs are stacked. The reference was the traditional Japanese construction technique of "tsugite-koho." After repeated fine-tuning of the prototype, and trial and error, to make it easy to stack and remove, the product was created with precise and accurate processing to within 0.3 mm, highlighting the high level of skill of Japanese craftsmen.
