The clock "Roman" was designed by ARNE JACOBSEN, a leading Nordic Danish architect and designer of the 20th century, when he designed the Aarhus City Hall. The city hall of Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city located on the Jutland Peninsula, is now a tourist attraction because Jacobsen designed everything from the furniture and lighting used inside to the ashtrays and doorknobs. This building is where Jacobsen's commitment to perfection, known as total design, began to take shape. The Roman clock was faithfully reproduced based on the design drawings of the time, and the dial molded as one with the case creates a unique three-dimensional effect. ARNE JACOBSENARNE JACOBSEN is known as the father of Danish design, who created the prototype of today's modern Nordic design. In 2008, ROSENDAHL, which strives to follow and nurture traditional Danish design, acquired the manufacturing rights to the Jacobsen Clock, and under the supervision of Jacobsen's beloved disciple, Tate Vaillant, a revival project was formed with the mission of faithfully reviving this wall clock to the original design. Tate's attention to detail is evident in the integrated dial, the beautifully arched mineral glass and stainless steel case, the back cover, and even the color.
