Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, is known as the number one apple producing area in Japan. Apple trees do not grow vertically much due to the ease of harvesting, so there are few parts that can be used as lumber, and because they have many knots, they are difficult to process, so after the harvest, they are disposed of except for firewood.
