APPLE STOOL
A small woodworking shop in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, makes wooden stools using apple wood and Japanese cypress from Aomori Prefecture. The gentle curves, carefully carved by Tsugaru craftsmen, make a great accent wherever you place it. The great-grandfather of the woodworking shop's founder once applied joinery techniques to develop the "apple ladder" used in apple cultivation, and this product is a product that embodies the gratitude for the benefits that the apple industry has given him so far, and the desire to "use the trees that have grown delicious apples carefully until the very end" and the efforts to utilize local resources. Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, is known as the number one apple producing area in Japan. Apple trees do not grow vertically much due to the ease of harvesting, so there are few parts that can be used as lumber, and because they have many knots, they are difficult to process, so after the harvest, they are disposed of except for firewood. At Kimura Mokkin Seisakusho, we cut down the trees from the farm, saw them, dry them, and process them all in-house, and we are committed to making products that utilize apple trees, even if it takes a lot of effort.
