The AJ Royal was part of the overall design concept developed by Arne Jacobsen in 1957 for the SAS Royal Hotel (now the Radisson Collection) in Copenhagen. Even today, the AJ Royal still retains its classical, graphic design and sharp appeal. The energy-saving built-in LED version, renewed with modern technology, comes with a diffuser on the underside, providing smooth light without glare. The louvers on the top also direct the gentle light upwards, beautifully illuminating the room. At the time of the hotel's opening, the AJ Royal was simply called the AJ Pendant. As a world-famous architect, it is the basic geometric shapes that characterize Jacobsen's designs. With its spherical segments, the AJ Royal is described as Jacobsen's first step in geometric forms.
