ASLAK CHAIR
The Aslak Chair is made of beech wood and features beautiful curves. It is lightweight, easy to carry, and has a functional design that allows it to be stacked. The three-dimensionally curved seat conforms to the human body, making it comfortable to sit on for long periods of time, and the short, curved armrests are designed to make it easy to pull the chair towards the table while still functioning as armrests. Ilmari Tapiovaara had already conceived the Aslak Chair in 1946, but it was not commercialized at the time. Full-scale production began in 1958, when mass production became technically possible.
