This small hexagonal box expresses the world of traditional Japanese beauty, "flower and bird paintings," using Kanazawa foil techniques. Based on a work by Edo Rinpa painter Suzuki Kiitsu, it depicts a bird quietly standing among flowers. The background is made of hand-cut Kanazawa foil, and the bird and cherry blossoms are decorated with a unique technique called "suribaku mosaic technique." The inside is lined with cloth.
