This floor lamp features an ergonomic shade and a minimalist arm and support. Designed by Oki Sato of the Japanese design office "nendo," this is a new interpretation of the traditional architect lamp (an arm-type desk lamp often used by architects, etc.). With features suited to modern work styles, it is useful both in the office and at home. A simple and precise mechanism using springs allows for high degree of freedom of movement. The head and arm can be flexibly moved, and the position and amount of light can be adjusted, making it ideal as a reading lamp to be placed next to a sofa or armchair. The LED light source is placed in a recessed position within the shade, so it does not show unpleasant light that dazzles the eyes. The shade, painted matte white on the inside, also produces soft indirect light, creating light that is comfortable for the eyes. It has a personal atmosphere even in its minimalist design, and can be used not only as a sofa-side light, but also as a pendant to illuminate a table.
