CLASSIC PENDANT MODEL 107
The Model 107 was designed by Esben Klint in 1942, the year before Le Klint was founded. It is a slightly smaller version of the Model 101 (Lantern) designed by his father, Kaare, and is also called the "Fruit Lantern" because of its appearance. The pleats are tightly packed into the small sphere, and are so intricate that it is hard to believe they were hand-folded. It is suitable for use as a sub-lighting to support the main lighting in the living room or dining room, or as lighting for the entrance or kitchen. The warm light and gentle shadows unique to Le Klint. The secret lies in the beautiful form that can only be achieved by hand-weaving a single sheet. The shades have not changed since the company was founded, and are still carefully made one by one by skilled craftsmen in a workshop in Odense, Denmark's third largest city. It is said that it takes three years to master this basic technique and more than 10 years to become a full-fledged craftsman. The pleated shades are made of flame-retardant PE resin, which makes them resistant to UV rays and heat, and highly transparent. They are easy to clean because they do not generate static electricity. Daily cleaning can be maintained by simply brushing off the dust with a brush. If dirt is a concern, the plastic shade can be removed and washed with water. Le Klint products come with a Philips Hue bulb.
