This floor lamp, crafted from oak, pays tribute to Kyoto's historic woodworking techniques and to early Japanese aviation. The lamp's structure is reminiscent of Japanese toy model airplanes. The lampshade is made from washi paper, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It is handcrafted by a long-established Kyoto craftsman who produces wagasa (umbrellas made from washi paper and bamboo), a uniquely Japanese umbrella.
