BOWSEN armchair
The teahouse "Bosen," which can be said to be the perfect example of tea master Kobori Enshu, has a design common to modernism, with light shoji screens on the veranda and an open ceiling at the bottom, controlling the view and continuously bringing in only the garden from inside the room. The design of "BOWSEN" was inspired by this composition of simple straight lines and horizontal lines. In contrast to the organic curved framing of modern chairs, the structure expresses the uniform square timbers, linear material use, and traditional architectural ideas of Japanese houses.
