This "Kiriko" lighting series creates a soft rhythm in the space with Japanese silhouettes drawn with light. The forms, assembled by skilled craftsmen with extensive knowledge of wood using traditional "Kumiko" techniques, are filled with a comfortable elegance that can only be expressed through handwork, and emit a fantastically flickering light. Kiriko refers to a cube with each corner cut off. Inspired by the Kiriko lanterns that are lit during Obon, the series features traditional Japanese auspicious patterns as well as original design patterns arranged in a modern style.
