This lounge chair was designed in 1930 by Jean Prouvé, a French designer who had a major influence on 20th century architecture and industrial design, for a student dormitory in the university town of Nancy, France. It is one of Prouvé's early masterpieces. With a powder-coated steel frame and leather straps for the armrests, it is a spacious and comfortable armchair, and Prouvé himself used it in the living room of his own home.
