KOSON Begonia and the sting
This art panel pays homage to the work of Ohara Koson, a Kanazawa-born painter who was active from the late Meiji period to the early Showa period. Koson's work is a traditional style reminiscent of ukiyo-e, but has a modern beauty in its high realism and sophisticated composition. Hakuichi was inspired by Koson's work and recreated it as a foil art piece. While expressing the lively figures of animals, the foil background brings out new charm. The size of the piece is like a tanzaku paper, creating a modern atmosphere that matches modern interiors. The foil in the background is made using a technique that overlaps foil of different thicknesses. The beautiful colors that are characteristic of Koson are reproduced as they are, and the painting is made three-dimensional and glossy to make the colors stand out even more, incorporating Hakuichi's unique techniques. Begonia with Cross-Stem Begonia is a plant that grows widely in Japan. It is named after the pale pink flowers that bloom in autumn. The begonia is a member of the sparrow family and is characterized by its red head and beak that crosses up and down at the tip. Source: https://flymee.jp/
