NF-DT01
The NF Collection was designed by Norman Foster, a leading British architect. It was designed to be installed in the Foster Retreat, designed by the project team of the Norman Foster Foundation. It features a smooth, organic design, made with Karimoku's state-of-the-art woodworking machines and carefully finished by hand by artisans. The NF-DT01 is a dining table with a simple silhouette and sophisticated geometric lines that are the personality of the NF Collection. The soft corners symbolize the characteristics of the design. The sloping armrests of the dining chair (NF-DC01) in the collection are inclined at the same angle as the back of the table, and fit beautifully under the table. Foster Retreat is Foster's private home in the grasslands of Martha's Vineyard Island, south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA. It was built to invite friends, writers, researchers, architects, engineers and anyone interested in urban and environmental issues to stay and enjoy. The furniture in Foster Retreat plays a key role in integrating and harmonizing the space while also giving flexibility to the living space. The use of wood was a natural choice, not only from a sustainability perspective, but also in respect to the traditional architecture and landscape that characterises the island.
