This dining chair was designed for the Blue Bottle Coffee shop located in the Jing An Kerry Centre in Shanghai, China. It is designed to support activities such as sitting comfortably, talking with someone, eating, or drinking coffee. We hope that the rich material textures and Karimoku's craftsmanship will uplift the spirits of those who use it. The sculpted solid wood backrest, echoing the soft material upholstered on the seat, creates a gentle impression. The JING’AN KERRY CENTRE CAFE Blue Bottle Coffee Jing An Kerry Centre Cafe collection was created with the intention of being installed at the "Blue Bottle Coffee Jing An Kerry Centre" in Shanghai, China. The Shanghai cafe is an interior project located within a building connected to the Kerry Centre, a bustling commercial district that has flourished around the "Jing'an Temple," which boasts a history of 1,000 years. Similar to other CASE STUDY 02 series, the overall design of the cafe was handled by Keiji Ashizawa Design, and tailor-made wooden interiors and furniture were created as elements composing the cafe. "While incorporating materials and design details rooted in the community and region, we also made an effort to express our existing design language by maintaining a good balance of the same materials and details used in the cafes we have worked on before."
