Wall Clock
This wooden box-shaped pendulum clock makes use of traditional Echizen lacquerware manufacturing techniques. Its unique design is reminiscent of the good old days, with solid oak wood joined to the sides and veneer applied to the front. The warmth and texture of the wood is brought out by the application of a coating that preserves the beautiful wood grain. The box-shaped clock can also be used as a table clock. The highly visible white dial was created in the image of French pendulum clocks from the 1980s and 1970s. The small red bird in the center pays homage to a French watchmaker, and is a sparrow bird called a "waxwing." The pendulum swings quietly through the shiny block-checked pendulum window.
