A dining bench created for the Swedish Michelin-starred restaurant ÄNG. The design combines a relaxed look with comfort. The inside, where the body comes into contact, is fully upholstered and soft and comfortable, while the outside is more strict and architectural, focusing on the wooden elements. This versatile bench can be installed anywhere, not only in hospitality spaces such as restaurants and hotels, but also in home dining rooms and office community spaces. THE RESTAURANG ÄNG The restaurant ÄNG collection was created to be installed in the Michelin-starred restaurant ÄNG, a modern glasshouse adjacent to the local Swedish vineyard ÄSTAD. The bespoke interior focuses on Scandinavian design philosophy and subdued material use, exploring the similarities between Japanese and Scandinavian expression. For this project, both Norm Architects and Keiji Ashizawa Architects designed new bespoke furniture and accessories, some of which will make up Karimoku Cases' sixth collection. "Ang is in many ways consistent with our design philosophy of balancing all the elements that make up the space. Here, our role was to create a harmonious context, a situation in which all the elements support each other so that guests can feel comfortable and simply immerse themselves in the experience. There are striking similarities between the Michelin chef's approach to menus and Norm's approach to architecture and design. Both use the natural surroundings, refining and enhancing them."
