AJ Oxford Table Lamp
This table lamp emits a harmonious and comfortable downward light through a milky white handmade triple-layered blown glass shade. It features a slim stem design, with the stem and the circular base seamlessly integrated. There are two types: a glass shade type that emits light up and down, and a metal shade type that delivers light downward, and each is available in two sizes. This product is a "metal shade". It was designed by Arne Jacobsen for St. Catherine's College, one of the 38 colleges that make up the University of Oxford in the UK. Like the college's distinctive architecture, the design features graphic elements, and it became the centerpiece of the long tables in the dining hall that accommodates 350 people. It is still used within the college and in student dormitories. St. Catherine's College, which opened in 1963, was designed by Arne Jacobsen. It is highly regarded as a masterpiece of modernist architecture, contrasting with the classical Oxford University buildings scattered throughout the city and strongly reflecting his overall design.
