The NF Collection was designed by Norman Foster, a leading British architect. It was designed to be included in the Foster Retreat, designed by the project team of the Norman Foster Foundation. Made from the same oak as the other NF Collections, the coffee table is perfectly sized to fit the sofa and chair. The table's angular joints and straight edges echo the flowing lines and curves of the other collections, creating an elegant dialogue. Foster Retreat is Foster's private home on the prairie of Martha's Vineyard Island, south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA. It was built to invite friends, writers, researchers, architects, engineers, and people interested in urban and environmental issues to stay and enjoy together. The furniture of Foster Retreat plays an important role in integrating and harmonizing the space while also giving flexibility to the living space. The use of wood was a natural choice not only from a sustainability perspective, but also given its respect for the traditional architecture and landscape that characterises the island.
