A British-made settee, presumably from the 1910s. A settee is a long chair that seats two or three people. Small rooms called salons were popular among the upper classes in France, and many settee chairs were made smaller and lighter to fit the space. This influence extended to Britain, where Thomas Chippendale, Robert Adam and others developed the settee by incorporating unique British designs.
