DOMUS LOUNGE CHAIR
A lounge chair with a wide, relaxed backrest. It was designed in 1946 by interior designer Ilmari Tapiovaara and his wife Annnikki for the student dormitory "Domus Academica" in Helsinki. The "Domus" series features adorable armrests, and a structure consisting of a seat and backrest curved in three dimensions from a single piece of birch plywood. It can be mass-produced, and has convenient functionality for student dormitories. It was conceived by Ilmari Tapiovaara, who inherited the modernist idea of "bringing great design to the lives of everyone," as a series of furniture that brings comfort to the person sitting on it.
